EKM youth and adult training will resume on the 10th of January 10.30am at Chaucer school, Canterbury.  Returning players should bring full kit, new players need to bring a gum shield, football boots and trainers (indoor training in bad weather) as well as some old sports you don't mind getting dirty!

Following the most successful season in the Mavericks short history the East Kent Mavericks Adult team have been promoted to Division one of the British American Football League.

The Mavericks won the South East Conference of Division 2 finishing the season with just one defeat - an upset loss to London in the first game of the season.   The team headed in to the playoffs with the top ranked defence in the country and 4th ranked offence and was disappointed to then lose in their first ever play off appearance and miss out on the chance to claim the Division 2 national championship.

 

The East Kent Mavericks Youth team have started preparation for the 2010 season early this year, and with a few switch arounds in terms of player's positions and a predominantly new coaching line-up, it looks as if we're going to be in good shape for the start of the league next summer.

The final game of the Mavericks Season against the Colchester Gladiators has been awarded as a draw due to the flooding at the Colchester pitch and no other suitable venue being available.

The Mavericks are obviously jubilant at winning the Division and progressing to the teams first ever trip to the play offs and possible promotion, however are disappointed as winning the cancelled game would have secured home field advantage through out the play-offs and also ensured local rivals the London Olympians a play-off berth.
